Our mission at Stratford District Council is to "Serve the district and its communities through advocacy, promotion, services, facilities and positive leadership."

Council looks after a wide range of the district's services such as animal control, planning and resource consents, water services, rubbish and recycling, roads and transport, parking and rates.  In addition it helps manage funding and grants for the community and organises family orientated events for the district's residents to enjoy.

Stratford District is one of New Zealand’s smallest local authority areas. The district is a great place to live, work and play with affordable real estate, good schools and easy access to larger towns.
